Yesterday I was working on the computer at my dad’s office when suddenly I couldn’t see the numbers I was looking at anymore. It was as if someone had taken my picture with a really bright camera flash and I had looked right into it. I could see everything AROUND whatever I was focusing on, just not the exact thing I was focusing on… that was hiding behind that wierd bright camera flash spot.
I stopped working on the computer, went to the bathroom, looked around the room at different things, and started to panic.
I called my ob and they told me to have my dad drive me into the office.
On the way there I noticed that the “spot” had drifted to the left, so now I could see what I looked at, but my left peripheral vision was shot. It was really scary.
It began to fade just before we got to the doctors office (of course) but when I got there they seemed to be concerned about preeclampsia.
My bloodpressure was 130 over 84 (not bad) and I had no protein in my urine or swelling. I didn’t have a headache either. The doc told me to go home and rest and to collect a 24 hour urine sample tomorrow (that is today). Then on thursday I go back again for a regular appt. and to have my bp checked again.
They listened to the baby and the baby sounded fine.
Wish me luck – I sure hope that was a one time thing… yikes.
